JSON Field Explorer

See every field in your data at a glance. For each path you get its types, how many records have it, where it's missing or null, what its text values look like (dates, emails, URLs, colours) and a few examples. Mixed types are flagged, so surprises in an API response are easy to spot.

How do I use the JSON field explorer?

  1. Paste JSON, such as an API response with an array of records.
  2. Read the table: one row per field, with its type, how often it's seen and what to watch out for.
  3. Copy the report as JSON.

What does the JSON field explorer do?

  • Types for every field path
  • Missing and null counts per field
  • Flags mixed types and numbers or booleans stored as text
  • Spots dates, emails, URLs and colours in strings
  • Example values for each field

Frequently asked questions

What counts as missing?
A field is missing when some records in an array have it and others don't. The table says in how many records it's missing, and separately how often it's null.
Is my data uploaded?
