TOON to JSON Converter

Paste TOON, from a prompt or from a model's answer, and get formatted JSON. Strict checks make sure each list has as many items as its [N] says, so a cut-off answer doesn't pass as complete.

Example: a model's answer, back to JSON

A model answered in TOON: a customer with nested address and two orders. The JSON has real numbers and null:

TOON

customer:
  name: Ana Souza
  address:
    city: Pune
    pin: "411001"
  vip: true
orders[2]{id,total,coupon}:
  ORD-20419,740.5,null
  ORD-20420,120,WELCOME10

Output

{
  "customer": {
    "name": "Ana Souza",
    "address": {
      "city": "Pune",
      "pin": "411001"
    },
    "vip": true
  },
  "orders": [
    {
      "id": "ORD-20419",
      "total": 740.5,
      "coupon": null
    },
    {
      "id": "ORD-20420",
      "total": 120,
      "coupon": "WELCOME10"
    }
  ]
}

When to use the TOON to JSON

When you ask a model to answer in TOON to save output tokens, you need JSON again for your code. Paste the answer and Bracely turns it into formatted JSON, with numbers, true, false and null as real JSON values.

Strict checks compare each [N] with the rows that follow and fail with the line number when they don't match, which is how you catch an answer that was cut off. Lenient checks read whatever is there. Indentation must be consistent: 2 spaces by default, or choose 4.

Frequently asked questions

Does it read tab and pipe rows?
Yes. The delimiter is written in the header, like items[2|]{sku|qty}: for pipe, so each table is read with its own.
Can I paste TOON anywhere in Bracely?
Yes. Bracely recognises pasted TOON and offers this converter.
What if a model's TOON is cut off?
With strict checks, a list with fewer rows than its [N] is an error that names the line. Choose Checks: lenient to read what's there.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Bracely runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you paste or open leaves your device.
