Hex and Byte Viewer
When two keys look the same but don't match, or a parser says there's an unexpected character you can't see, look at the bytes. Bracely shows every byte next to its character and lists what's hidden or broken, where it is and why it matters, and can give you the text with all of it fixed.
How do I use the Hex viewer?
- Paste text or JSON, or drop a file to see its exact bytes.
- Read the list of findings; hover a highlighted byte to see what it is.
- Set Show to text with hidden characters fixed to get a clean copy.
What does the Hex viewer do?
- Byte order marks, zero-width spaces, no-break and other look-alike spaces
- Direction controls (Trojan Source), control characters and line separators
- Windows and old Mac line endings, invalid UTF-8 and replacement characters
- Double-encoded UTF-8 like é found and repaired
- UTF-8 and UTF-16, from text, Base64 or hex
- A hexdump -C style dump to copy
Frequently asked questions
- Why can't I see CRLF line endings when I paste?
- The text box stores line endings as \n. Drop the file on the page instead and its bytes are read exactly as saved.
- Is my data uploaded?
- No. Bracely runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you paste or open leaves your device.
